Molecular Rhythms
Have you ever wondered what molecules sound like?
Molecular Rhythms is a Max for live device that takes molecular formulas and turns them into polyrhythmic sequences! It does this by taking the number of atoms within their formula and using those numbers to run a multipart arpeggiator!
Say you want to hear what Dopamine sounds like. You can input the chemical formula (C8H11NO2), and from there you can select a midi instrument, drum rack or any other midi device you'd like to control, Select a subdivision and play away! When notes are depressed on a keyboard the first note pressed (in the case of Dopamine) will play a sequence in 8 then the following note played will be in 11 and the third note will play in a sequence of 2.
This can be done with any molecule inputed into Molecular Rhythms!
Give it a try! The possibilities are endless!
*Ableton Live and Max For Live are required.
